Synopsis
Two years after the Summit War in which Straw Hat pirate Luffy lost his brother Ace, the story takes place on the Sabaody Archipelago. The protagonist, a young girl who has a strong admiration for Nami, sets off on a small adventure. This is an ensemble drama that focuses on people who do not "pursue" ONE PIECE, depicting the reunion of the Straw Hat Pirates from their perspective.

Months into treatment, I wonder if it’s doing me any good. I honestly don’t know how many years I have left. My disease metastasized to my lymph nodes and stomach. It could be 10 years, 5 years, or a relapse reduce it to just one year or a month.
Im not necessarily scared of dying. I find it comforting and don't want to live to an old age anyway. I don't get freaked out at the thought of death, but I get really mad that I won't get to see what happens next. I’m really saddened by the thought that I might not see the ending of One Piece due to my illness. But I'm really happy I lived in a world where One Piece exists—it's been such an incredible adventure.
Btw I already instructed my parents to attach a QR code of this➡️ LINK ⬅️on my gravestone lol

“every little thing is changing my life little by little.
if i can survive, will I be able to make an impact on someone’s life someday?
just like that guy.”
this story really means so much to me
a tender look at the straw hats from the sidelines, from people they’ve saved in one way or another. even if it was just via peripheral ripples in their wake
the animation and direction on this is fucking phenomenal too, thank u Megumi Ishitani <3
we are truly experiencing a One Piece renaissance rn
P.S.
thank god Toei felt the pressure from WIT. i’m happy they’re revisiting past arcs to make em more refined and respectful adaptations. cuz sometimes that shit was downright disrespectful (lookin @ you dressrosa) -

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
unbelievably good, a euphoric love letter to the series. lil nami main character was so cute and the animation was top notch. comedy was hilarious too, the big bad marine guy being a huge cutesy chopper fan is a straight up oda gag. i loved how this depicted how tough marineford war was for every normal marine and how luffy was a shining star even to some of those opposing marines
i hope they continue to give their directors more chances at making these side stories that play around with established one piece events. they don’t even need to tie it in to a specific event, the one piece world is massive and they can do so much in any location of the world. hope we can see more creative stuff like this while they work on their official one pace😋

Not being hyperbolic at all when I say this might be one of the most flawlessly crafted works of animation and storytelling ever conceived. Megumi Ishitani is one of, if not the best animation director working today and it cannot be overstated how valuable her filmography is. She understands art and its relationship with humanity at a fundamental level that I’ve hardly seen anyone match in my (admittedly limited) time watching anything, and I truly wish everyone in the world could experience this even if it is locked behind 500 episodes of television or 600 chapters of a manga.
I can MORE than assure you that it’s worth it. Please, to anyone reading this, find any reason at all to experience this series to its fullest. That is all I can say.
