Travis Scott SPEAKS OUT After Astroworld Festival Tragedy

Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jennerare breakingtheirsilence on the tragedy that took place at the Astroworld festival.

On Monday, Nov. 8, theKeeping Up With the Kardashians alums posted a brief statement totheir respective Instagram Stories acknowledging the tragic events that unfolded at Travis Scott's music festival.

"Absolutely heartbroken for the lives who were lost and anyone who was hurt as Astroworld,"Kim wrote on her social media profiles. "Just like all of you, our family is in shock by the tragedy. We are keeping all of the victims, families and loves impacted in our prayers for healing—as well as Travis who we know cares so much about his fans and is truly devastated."

Kendall, who attended the concert with pregnant sister Kylie Jenner, said in a separate statement that she is "still at a loss for words" over what took place on Friday, Nov. 5.

"I'm truly broken for the families that have lost loved ones and my prayers go out to everyone involved," the 26-year-old model said. "Sending everyone who has been affected all of my love and wishing them strength during this incredibly devastating and sensitive time."

Theirstatements come twodays after dozens of concertgoers were injured and eight people died during the "Sicko Mode" rapper's performance in Houston on Friday, Nov. 5. MayorSylvester Turnerand city policedescribed what took place as a "mass casualty incident," and confirmed an investigation is underway.

The concert took place in Travis' hometown and was attended by thousands.

Following the incident, the Astroworld organizers canceled Saturday's lineup and issued a statement saying they are cooperating with authorities.

Kylie and Travis have also expressed their condolences to those impacted by Friday's events.

"Travis and I are broken and devastated," Kylie, 24,wrote on her Instagram Story Saturday. "My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in anyway [sic] by yesterday's events. And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community."

She continued, "I want to make it clear we weren't aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing. I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted."

In a separate statement shared to Twitter on Saturday, Nov. 6, Travis wrote that he was "absolutely devastated" by the loss of lives.

"My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival," the artist stated. "Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love You All."

While authorities continue to investigate what caused the casualties, several concertgoers and victims' families have already filed lawsuits against Travis andthe organizers, including ScoreMore, ASM Global and several others. One lawsuit filed by attendeeManuel Souzaand obtained by E! News states that theevent was "predictable and preventable."

Another lawsuit filed by concertgoerKristian Paredesand obtained by E! News alleged that Travis and performerDrake, as well as Live Nation andHarris County Sports & Convention Corporation, were negligent. The documents state that Drake allegedly "came on stage alongside Travis Scott and helped incite the crowd," and "the crowd became chaotic and a stampede began leaving eight dead and dozens including Kristian Paredes severely injured."

Aspokesperson for ASM Global, Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation and NRG Park told E! News in a statement, "Because of pending litigation and ongoing investigations, we are unable to comment."

In a separate statement to E! News, Live Nation said, "We continue to support and assist local authorities in their ongoing investigation so that both the fans who attended and their families can get the answers they want and deserve, and we will address all legal matters at the appropriate time."
